Design Technologist

**Company** Erosion Control Central Ltd. (ECC) is a leading provider of integrated erosion and sediment control services across Western Canada. We operate as a one\-stop shop for erosion and sediment control, offering construction, inspection, and design services to developers, municipalities, and engineering consultants. Our mission is to protect the environment, support clean communities, and help our clients deliver projects on schedule. As our Design group continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Design Technologist to assist with Erosion \& Sediment Control Plan preparation for projects throughout Western Canada. **Position Overview** In this role you will be responsible for a range of projects focused on assisting our clients with their Land Development, Highway, and Infrastructure projects. As the ideal candidate, you have strong design and drafting skills, highly organized, an excellent communicator and thrives in a dynamic work environment. Your abilities will be strengthened and grown through ongoing training opportunities and project development. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop erosion and sediment control plans and designs using industry best practices and relevant regulations. * Provide project updates to project managers, engineers, and construction crews. * Prepare calculations and spreadsheets. * Stay up\-to\-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to erosion and sediment control. * Build on engineered drawings using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam. * Occasionally conduct site inspections to evaluate potential erosion and sediment control needs. **Requirements** * Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software. * Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. * Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. **Preferred Qualifications** * A Diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design and Drafting from an accredited technical institution. * Demonstrated experience in projects including site grading, site servicing, deep and shallow utilities, erosion and sediment control. * At least 1\-2 years of Civil3D experience in a Civil design setting. * Proficiency in MS office software applications such as Word and Excel. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Committed team player and the ability to work independently. **Benefits** * Company events * Dental care * Extended health care * Hybrid work environment * Paid time off * On\-going Training allowance **Schedule** * Full\-time Monday to Friday **Compensation** Competitive compensation will be provided, commensurate with experience and responsibility.
