Deputy General Counsel

**Deputy General Counsel (Marketing and Commercial)** **Location:** Hybrid, New York A successful personal care CPG company is seeking a senior marketing and commercial legal counsel to join its in house legal team as the second lawyer. This role partners closely with the General Counsel and supports a highly marketing driven, consumer facing business with a strong brand presence. You will work directly with marketing, brand, and commercial teams, advising on advertising, influencer, and promotional activity, as well as a wide range of commercial contracts. The role is intentionally broad and offers long term growth potential as the legal function continues to scale. **Key Responsibilities** * Advise on marketing, advertising, and promotional initiatives across social, digital, and influencer channels * Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, marketing, vendor, and licensing agreements * Support brand protection, IP clearance, and advertising compliance matters * Partner closely with cross functional teams to provide practical, business oriented legal guidance * Contribute to building legal processes and infrastructure in a growing environment * Optionally support HR and people related matters for candidates with relevant experience **Candidate Profile** * 10 or more years of legal experience with meaningful in house exposure * Strong background advising marketing, advertising, or commercial teams * Preference for experience supporting consumer products or CPG clients * Comfortable operating as a generalist in a lean, fast moving environment * Practical, collaborative, and credible business partner
