Data Scientist

We’re looking for a **Data Scientist** to join us at Telia as soon as possible, on a fixed\-term contract until 31 December 2026\. I’m **Emma Craig** , **Head of Customer Base Management** , and I’m searching for someone ready to grow with us. We’re a supportive, forward\-thinking team focused on winning the moments that matter by turning customer and marketing data into clear decisions, smarter journeys, and measurable business impact. **What you’ll do:** You’ll combine hands\-on data science with strong business translation shaping ambiguous questions into robust analyses, well\-defined metrics, and production\-ready models. * Extract, transform, and validate customer and campaign datasets using efficient SQL for both ad hoc and recurring needs. * Build and deploy predictive models (e.g., churn, segmentation, lifetime value) using Python and modern ML methods. * Define and standardise business\-critical metrics (e.g., churn, retention, engagement) and ensure consistent implementation across systems. * Translate insights into action by aligning stakeholders and delivering time\-sensitive analyses (e.g., targeting lists, diagnostics) while balancing long\- and short\-term priorities. **What will help you thrive in this role:** You’re analytically rigorous, pragmatic, and comfortable bridging technical depth with clear, structured communication—especially when priorities shift and problem statements are still forming. * 7\+ years’ experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a closely related field. * Strong SQL and confidence working with large complex datasets. * Advanced Python for analytics and modelling plus solid statistical thinking. * Stakeholder translation skills—able to define metrics, explain complex concepts without oversimplifying, and drive alignment with humility and influence. **Join us to shape smarter living for people, businesses, and the planet** At Telia, we’re a team of 15 000 colleagues across the Nordics and Baltics, passionate about technology and connectivity.
