Data Scientist

TekStaff's Client has a current vacancy for a Data Scientist Pay Rate Range: $82\-100 Job Description **This is a 5 month contract located in Toronto, ON/ Hybrid (2 days/ week)** Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills: 1\) 10\+ years’ Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Analyst, with at least 5\+ within Banking or Capital Calculations 2\) 5\+ years’ proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and performance optimization 3\) 2\+ years hands\-on experience with Python (basic coding knowledge) 4\) Experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets 5\) Solid grounding in statistics, data analysis, and predictive modeling Nice\-To\-Have Skills: 1\) Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and industry data 2\) Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and reporting 3\) Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) 4\) Basic understanding of LLMs, AI tools e.g. CoPilot Soft Skills Required: • Analytical thinking and problem\-solving • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to work independently and in cross\-functional teams • Attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and governance • Ability to explain complex models and results to non\-technical audiences Education: Bachelor’s – experienced prioritized TekStaff may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of the applicant screening process.
