Data Scientist

Our client, a cornerstone of the Canadian financial landscape, is looking for a **Data Science Specialist** to join their Investment Distribution team for a 12 month full time contract. This isn't a back\-office "lab" role; it is a high\-impact position that sits directly at the intersection of **Advanced Analytics** and **Capital Markets.** You will use machine learning and deep learning to mine large sets of structured and unstructured data, turning abstract patterns into "smarter business decisions" for investment sales leaders. **What You’ll Be Doing** * **Predictive Modeling:** Design and construct new processes for modeling data and developing prediction systems to improve sales strategies. * **Data Visualization:** Own the day\-to\-day dashboard management in **PowerBI** , making complex insights accessible to the distribution teams. * **Pipeline Collaboration:** Work side\-by\-side with Data Engineers and Business Analysts to build and maintain data pipelines and analytics tables. * **Strategy Translation:** Communicate technical/abstract concepts in simple, persuasive terms to help maintain the bank’s market competitiveness. **The Requirements (Must\-Haves)** * **Experience:** Minimum **4 years** of relevant experience in data analytics and machine learning. * **The Stack:** Essential mastery of **SQL, Python, and R** . * **Visualization:** Strong professional experience with **PowerBI** or similar tools. * **Education:** An advanced degree in a quantitative field (Masters/PhD) or a **CFA designation** is a major asset. * **Soft Skills:** You are personable, sociable, and able to manage the ambiguity of a fast\-paced trading/sales environment. **Recruiter’s Note on Eligibility** * **Work History:** Our client requires a stable professional background.
