Job Summary

Parts Avatar is seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Scientist to join our team. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong analytical background and a passion for turning data into actionable insights. You will focus directly on core e-commerce pillars, leveraging predictive modelling to enhance user experience through personalization, optimize marketing spend, and predict demand and returns to streamline our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Collect, preprocess, and analyze various data from diverse sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.

Develop, deploy, and maintain machine learning models for demand prediction to optimize inventory and fulfillment operations.

Design and execute data science initiatives centred around personalization and recommendation algorithms to enhance the customer journey.

Analyze marketing data to attribute performance, uncover insights, and optimize customer acquisition and retention strategies.

Build frameworks to analyze returns data, identifying root causes and offering data-driven mitigation recommendations.

Collaborate with various teams to understand their data needs and provide data-driven recommendations.

Design, develop, and maintain key performance indicator (KPI) reports and dashboards to monitor business performance.

Generate actionable insights for business improvements.

Qualifications

Education

Degree required in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Master's degree preferred.

Technical Skills

Comprehensive experience with the Python data stack (e.g., Pandas/Polars, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow/PyTorch).

Fluency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.

Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.

Proficiency in data visualization.

Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) and Git.

Soft Skills

A self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Excellent collaborative skills, strong ability to multitask, and a curiosity to learn and grow.

Work Authorization

Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Language Requirements

Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required, as English is the primary working language across teams in Ontario and Quebec. French is considered an asset.
