Data Scientist

**Job Title – Data Scientist** **Period – 12 months ­­** **Location – Toronto, ON** **Work mode : Hybrid – 3 days** **Role Overview** We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to join our team, combining expertise in financial markets, investment distribution, and advanced analytics. This role focuses on leveraging machine learning and data technologies to generate insights, optimize sales strategies, and support data\-driven decision\-making across the organization, **Key Responsibilities** * Develop and implement machine learning models to enhance investment sales and distribution strategies * Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to build and maintain data pipelines and analytics datasets * Perform data mining and extract actionable insights from structured and unstructured data sources * Conduct large\-scale data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities * Design and deploy predictive models to support business decision\-making * Create and manage dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Power BI) for stakeholders * Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations * Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve analytics capabilities * Work cross\-functionally with stakeholders to deliver impactful analytics solutions * Stay updated on market trends and proactively recommend strategic changes **Required Qualifications** * 4\+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) * Strong programming skills in SQL and Python/R/SAS * Proven experience with machine learning and data analytics techniques * Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI * Strong problem\-solving and analytical thinking skills * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly * Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage ambiguity * Demonstrated experience in data\-driven decision\-making **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience in the investment, asset management, or financial services industry * Knowledge of financial markets and investment products * Prior experience in banking or investment distribution environments ***Dexian is a leading provider of staffing, IT, and workforce solutions with over 12,000 employees and 70 locations worldwide.
