**Job Title: Senior IT Software Engineer Data Scientist** **Location: Houston, TX (Dairy Ashford Hybrid)** **Employment Type: Contract (8 months, with potential extension)** **About The Role** We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist / Software Engineer who can translate complex business questions into scalable, production ready data science solutions. This role requires a strong blend of data science, statistics/machine learning, and software engineering skills, along with the ability to clearly communicate insights to business and technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate has applied advanced quantitative methods to real world problems and is comfortable working in agile, collaborative product teams. **Key Responsibilities** * Design and deliver data science and advanced analytics solutions aligned to business objectives * Develop clean, maintainable, production grade code with appropriate testing and documentation * Build, deploy, and integrate machine learning and statistical models into production environments on a frequent basis * Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and Product Owners to understand requirements and deliver value * Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, continuous improvement activities, and collaborative development practices * Communicate analytical approaches, assumptions, and results clearly to both technical and non technical audiences * Continuously learn and adopt new tools, engineering practices, and technologies to improve team effectiveness **Work Environment \& Challenges** * Rapid onboarding to new projects and problem domains * Working with complex or ill defined datasets * Explaining technical concepts in clear, accessible language to diverse audiences * Collaborating virtually with team members across multiple geographies **Required Qualifications** * Demonstrated experience delivering data science or advanced analytics projects in production environments * Strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and applied mathematics * Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and modeling * Experience with modern data and analytics platforms, including Databricks, SQL, Git, and cloud environments (Azure strongly preferred) * Solid software engineering practices, including version control, testing, and code quality standards * Experience working in Agile development environments * Strong analytical problem solving skills and attention to detail * Excellent written and verbal communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience integrating analytical or machine learning models into enterprise scale production systems * Familiarity with data engineering concepts and data quality considerations * Experience with additional statistical or programming tools (e.g., MATLAB) **Knowledge Of Software Engineering Principles Such As** * Software configuration management * Software construction best practices * Software engineering economics a { text\-decoration: none; color: \#464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid \#e6e6e6; } tr th { background\-color: \#f5f5f5; }
