Data Scientist

**Data Scientist** **9 month contract opportunity, potential to extend.** **This is an on\-site opportunity.** **4 \- 5 times per week in the downtown Vancouver office.** **Job Description:** The focus will be on generating insights from the data, not on building or working with tools. Looking for insightful recommendations, critical thinking, someone who is comfortable doing a deep dive in the data and has patience and curiosity. There will be 1 project they're working on for months, not multiple projects concurrently. They need this person to learn the domain knowledge to satisfy expectations of HQ. A big plus for this person is experience analyzing big data related to health and mobile, which conveniently is a pretty hot area right now. **This person must be strong with Python, SQL and ideally Spark (but Hadoop is fine). They should also have some experience with Tableau or dashboarding in general.** **Desired skills \& experience:** * Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related disciplines) * Experience in data science, with a focus on extracting insights from complex datasets * Proficiency in Python (SciKit\-Learn, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.) and SQL * Proven track record of applying advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques to real\-world problems * Experience with experimental design, causal inference, and time\-series analysis * Hands\-on experience with forecasting models, including ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM, and other advanced ML/AI techniques * Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Apache Superset, or similar). * Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) * Strong communication skills to convey complex findings to non\-technical stakeholders. * Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams * Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR) related to data privacy * Experience with Generative AI * Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub) and containerization (Kubernetes) **$75 \- $85 per hour for an INC consultant** If you're interested, please apply with resume If you are a strong fit, I will be in contact quickly to discuss additional details and next steps Best regards,
