Data Engineer (Java \& Elasticsearch)
to join a cross‑functional agile team working on next‑generation data platforms and the supporting systems that enable seamless end‑to‑end data-driven solutions in Gothenburg, Sweden
What You’ll Do
Develop and maintain backend, frontend, and Elasticsearch configurations for a metadata platform
Support daily operations and ensure stability and reliability of application services
Participate in testing, deployment, and operational activities
Drive and contribute to data pipeline architecture and information models
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into solution designs
Maintain and evolve cloud infrastructure supporting the platform
Act as Subject Matter Expert within metadata management for AD/ADAS domain
Optimize data usage, integrate new data sources, and improve pipelines
Work closely with product owners, architects, and business teams to ensure efficient solutions
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar) or equivalent experience
Strong experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer
Proven experience working with big data platforms and distributed systems
Strong understanding of backend development and data processing
Experience working in agile, collaborative teams
DevOps mindset with ownership of development and operations
Hands-on experience with
Java and Spring Boot
Elasticsearch (building scalable and high-performance solutions)
REST APIs and backend development
Azure cloud services and optimization
Data pipelines and data modelling
Kafka or similar middleware technologies
Kubernetes and Docker
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Python, JavaScript or TypeScript
PostgreSQL and non-relational databases
Nice to Have
Experience with GraphQL, Swagger, and Linux environments
Frontend development experience (ReactJS)
Application security knowledge
Experience with metadata platforms or AD/ADAS domains
Strong stakeholder collaboration and communication skills
