Job Description **Company:** XOSOFT Technologies Private Limited **Position:** Data Engineer (R\&D Focus) **Location:** Lahore, Pakistan (On\-Site) **Job Type:** Full\-Time About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated **Data Engineer (R\&D Focus)** with **4\+ years of experience** to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, experimentation, and developing innovative data\-driven solutions. The candidate will be responsible for designing and building scalable data systems, conducting technical research, exploring emerging technologies, and supporting advanced analytics and AI initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesResearch \& Development * Research emerging data engineering technologies, tools, and industry best practices. * Evaluate and prototype new data architectures, frameworks, and solutions. * Conduct proof\-of\-concept (POC) projects for innovative data initiatives. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to identify opportunities for data\-driven innovation. * Analyze technical feasibility and scalability of new data solutions. Data Engineering * Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. * Build and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and data platforms. * Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources. * Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and governance standards. * Optimize data processing workflows for performance and efficiency. Data Analysis \& Innovation * Support advanced analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML initiatives. * Work with large structured and unstructured datasets. * Develop data models and transformation logic to support research projects. * Generate insights through data exploration and experimentation. Collaboration \& Documentation * Work closely with Product, Engineering, AI/ML, and Business teams. * Document research findings, technical evaluations, and architectural decisions. * Present recommendations and innovative solutions to stakeholders. * Mentor junior team members and promote data engineering best practices. Required QualificationsCore Skills * **4\+ years of experience** in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field. * Strong proficiency in **Python** and **SQL** . * Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and managing large datasets. * Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and data architecture. * Excellent analytical, research, and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to independently investigate and evaluate new technologies. Technical Expertise * Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.) * Data Warehousing Solutions * Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools * Big Data technologies such as Spark or similar frameworks * Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) * Data Pipeline Development \& Automation Preferred Qualifications * Experience working in an R\&D or innovation\-driven environment. * Exposure to Machine Learning, AI, or Data Science projects. * Familiarity with Data Lakes, Lakehouse architectures, and modern data stacks. * Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery. * Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD, and version control systems (Git).
