**Technical Group Leader \- Civil/Structural Engineer** We are seeking an experienced **Technical Group Leader** to lead a high‑performing formwork and temporary works design team supporting complex construction projects. This is a senior technical leadership role for a hands‑on engineer who combines deep formwork and shoring expertise with the ability to lead, mentor, and govern design quality in a fast‑paced, design‑assist environment. **The Role** You will take technical ownership of a regional design function, guiding projects from concept through delivery while ensuring designs are safe, efficient, constructible, and commercially sound. You will act as the senior technical authority, setting standards, reviewing complex designs, and developing the capability of your team. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead and develop a team of technical designers producing formwork and shoring solutions * Act as the senior technical authority for complex and high‑risk designs * Review and approve calculations, drawings, and design assumptions * Drive consistency through design standards, templates, and best practices * Balance safety, constructability, programme, and cost in all technical solutions * Collaborate closely with project, commercial, and operations teams * Plan workloads and resources to meet programme commitments * Mentor and coach engineers and designers, raising technical capability * Promote a strong safety and quality culture across all technical deliverables **What We’re Looking For** * Degree‑qualified, PE Certified Civil or structural engineer * Significant experience in formwork, shoring, or temporary works design * Proven experience leading or mentoring a technical design team * Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site constraints * Comfortable acting as the final technical sign‑off on designs * Proficient with CAD and structural analysis tools * Clear communicator with the confidence to challenge and influence * Practical, solutions‑driven mindset with strong commercial awareness **Why Apply** * Lead a technically respected design function with real influence * Work on complex, high‑profile construction projects * Shape standards, processes, and technical direction * Combine hands‑on engineering with people leadership * Join an environment that values technical rigour and constructability If you are an Engineering professional who enjoys leading people, owning technical quality, and solving real construction challenges, we would like to hear from you.
