Civil Engineer - OHL - Substation Projects

Civil Engineer (OHL) \- Substation Projects Location: Abu Dhabi In this role within the Transmission \& Distribution department, you will support the Resident Engineer in supervising and monitoring civil works for overhead line (OHL) projects. You will help ensure that all activities comply with contract specifications, approved drawings, method statements, and safety regulations, while contributing to inspections, coordination, and project handover. Key Responsibilities * Assist the Resident Engineer in daily supervision of OHL civil works * Perform regular site inspections to assess contractor performance * Coordinate with technical disciplines and participate in site meetings * Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and technical documents * Ensure works comply with approved drawings, layouts, and method statements * Witness inspections, testing, and site activities as required * Support final inspections, completion certification, and project handover * Promote and ensure adherence to health and safety standards on site Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (approved by UAE regulatory authorities) * Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering projects in the UAE, including OHL works Technical Profile * Strong knowledge of civil works related to overhead transmission lines * Experience in site supervision, contractor coordination, and construction monitoring * Familiarity with UAE utility and authority requirements Soft Skills * Strong communication and coordination skills * Detail\-oriented and proactive approach to problem\-solving * Ability to work effectively under pressure in multicultural environments Preferred Experience * Previous experience working with major UAE utilities such as TRANSCO, ADDC, DEWA, or similar organizations
