Our work has driven foundational datasets like **OpenThought** s and state\-of\-the\-art models such as **Bespoke\-MiniCheck** and **Bespoke\-MiniChart** **About the Role** We're looking for a **Freelance Chip Design Engineer** to create RL environments that will train the next generation of frontier models. It's high\-impact work that sits right at the intersection of **hardwareexpertise** and cutting\-edge AI development. You'll bring a solid **electrical engineering foundation** , real silicon experience, and the ability to write practical Python for test automation and hardware characterization. This isn't a software role dressed up in hardware language, we need engineers who live and breathe digital design. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering * **3–10** years of hands\-on experience **in chip de** si **gn, RTL Design, ASIC Design, Validation Engi** ne **er, Physical Des** ign **or Sil** icon characterization (not adjacent — actual IC work) * Python proficiency applied to hardware — scripting, automation, data processing * Familiarity with IC physical design concepts: DRC, LVS, PEX, and standard cell libraries **What We Are Not Looking For** This role is explicitly not suited for software engineers, data scientists, or embedded firmware developers looking to pivot into chip design. Candidates must have direct, hands\-on experience with Chip Design, RTL, digital IC design, ASIC/FPGA flows, or functional verification.
