Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure to have an updated Audit Universe for effective audit planning and Board approved Audit strategy
- Ensure to develop an annual audit plan that provides effective audit coverage of the Bank's operations based on assessment of potential risks and exposure and get it approved from Board Audit Committee.
- Ensure the execution of audit assignments according to planning documents and audit program. International Internal auditing standards and best practices to check the adequacy and efficiency of controls including review of the subject matter against the applicable laws in the country, Bank's policies \& procedures and internal guidelines of the bank.
- Issue periodic reports to the Audit Committee and Management summarizing results and highlighting significant findings and recommendations of audit activities, along with management input/comments on these findings
- Provide updates on the progress of the plan to the Audit Committee on a periodic basis. Develop, implement and monitor bank's Internal Audit policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Maintain professional team of audit staff with sufficient knowledge, skills, experience and professional certifications.
- Provide ongoing feedback to the team to ensure they develop the skills and competencies required for effective planning and professional and personal career growth.
- Interact with bank management on an ongoing basis to gain an understanding of internal control environment, current and upcoming changes, business risks and project review requirements.
- Coordinate with External Auditors, Regulators and other monitoring functions of bank like Compliance and Risk Management for the purpose of providing optimal audit coverage to bank in the most efficient and effective manner.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of Internal Audit and its compliance with Internal Audit policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure that audit work meets performance standards and is done within time and budget constraints.
- Providing an independent assessment/opinion to BAC on annual basis on state of internal controls in the bank based on the audits conducted during the audit period.
- Carry out any appropriate special tasks or projects requested by Management or the Audit Committee.
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant with 12–15 years of relevant experience
- Strong expertise in bank control environments and risk assessment
- Sound knowledge of International Internal Auditing Standards
- Proven ability to build stakeholder relationships and establish trust
- Quick learner with strong conceptual understanding
