CAD Operator

**Job Title:** CAD Operator **Department:** Engineering/Design/Projects **Location:** Karachi, Pakistan **Job Summary** The Auto CAD Operator is responsible for preparing, modifying, and managing technical drawings and layouts using computer\-aided design software. The role supports engineering, architectural, and construction teams by producing accurate drawings in accordance with project specifications, standards, and timelines. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and plans using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools. * Develop architectural, structural, and MEP drawings based on sketches, specifications, and engineering inputs. * Revise and update drawings as per design changes, site instructions, and client feedback. * Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. * Coordinate with engineers, architects, and site teams to clarify design details. * Maintain organized drawing records, version control, and documentation. * Assist in quantity take\-offs and basic BOQ support when required. * Support site teams by providing shop drawings and as\-built drawings. * Ensure timely submission of drawings in line with project schedules. **Required Qualifications** * Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field. * Proven experience as a CAD Operator, preferably in construction or engineering projects. * Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit, or other BIM tools is an advantage. * Strong understanding of construction drawings, symbols, and standards. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. **Skills \& Competencies** * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Good organizational and time management skills. * Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple tasks. * Effective communication and coordination skills. * Basic knowledge of construction methods and materials. **Experience** * 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, or architectural projects. * Experience in preparing architectural, structural, and MEP drawings is preferred. **Working Conditions** * Office\-based role with occasional coordination with site teams. * May require extended hours during peak project deadlines. **Performance Indicators** * Accuracy and quality of drawings. * Timely delivery of assigned drawings. * Compliance with project standards and revisions. * Coordination effectiveness with design and site teams. ***Times Group is an equal opportunity employer.
