This role is essential to our mission of enabling mass EV adoption by helping dealerships sell 1 million EVs in the next 5 years. **Job Summary** : We are seeking a **Battery Data Scientist** to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of EV battery intelligence. You will analyze large\-scale datasets extracted directly from electric vehicles through diagnostic systems, CAN BUS / DoIP communication, and our proprietary hardware platform. Your work will focus on understanding battery behaviour, degradation patterns, seasonal performance, charging characteristics, and long\-term battery health trends across various EV models. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about battery systems, EV technologies, and building data\-driven algorithms that drive real\-world impact. **Key Responsibilities** : * **Battery Data Analysis** : Analyze large\-scale datasets extracted from EV battery systems to identify patterns in battery degradation, charging behaviour, range variation, and energy consumption. * **State of Health \& State of Charge Modelling** : Develop and improve methodologies for evaluating battery State of Health (SOH), State of Charge (SOC), and battery aging across different EV platforms. * **Battery Degradation Research** : Study how EV batteries behave over time under varying environmental, charging, and driving conditions, including seasonal impacts on battery performance. * **Algorithm Development** : Collaborate with engineering teams to build and refine proprietary algorithms related to EV battery diagnostics and health estimation. * **Battery Chemistry Understanding** : Apply knowledge of battery chemistries and pack architectures to improve interpretation of vehicle battery metrics and diagnostic data. * **Data Interpretation \& Validation** : Validate extracted vehicle metrics and identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or opportunities to improve battery analysis accuracy. * **Cross\-functional Collaboration** : Work closely with software engineers, vehicle data engineers, and leadership to integrate battery intelligence into core product offerings. * **Continuous Improvement** : Stay informed of the latest EV battery technologies, degradation studies, and industry best practices to continuously improve our data science capabilities. **Qualifications** : * **Battery Systems Knowledge** : Strong understanding of EV battery systems, including concepts such as State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SOH), battery degradation, charging curves, and battery lifecycle analysis. * **Data Science \& Analytics** : Experience analyzing complex datasets and building data\-driven models related to battery behaviour and performance. * **Battery Chemistry Understanding** : Familiarity with lithium\-ion battery chemistries, battery pack structures, thermal behaviour, and energy storage principles. * **Problem Solving** : Ability to work through complex technical and analytical challenges independently and efficiently. * **Communication** : Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical findings within a cross\-functional team. * **Programming \& Data Tools** : Experience with Python and data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or similar tooling for large\-scale data analysis. **Why Join Us?** * **Impact and Purpose** : Your work will directly contribute to Lyteflo’s mission of enabling mass adoption of EVs, making a material impact on both the mobility industry and the decarbonization of the planet. * **Growth** : Join a venture backed startup in the exciting EV space on the ground floor.
