Job Description
An innovative organisation in the health and wellness technology space is looking for a Backend Engineer. You will join the team responsible for the core commerce and clinical journey, building the systems that power consultations, prescriptions, and order generation at a significant consumer scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build the services behind the customer journey, including APIs and data models powering clinical consultations and order generation.
- Ship and own backend features from initial ticket through to production, ensuring they remain fast and healthy.
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code that serves as a foundation for other engineers.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop complex services behind prescriptions and patient systems.
- Make occasional frontend changes in React when a feature requires full-stack adjustments.
What We're Looking For
- Solid hands-on experience building backend services and APIs using Python and Flask.
- Strong fundamentals in data modelling with SQLAlchemy and sensible API design.
- Experience with relational databases, ideally MySQL, and an instinct for thorough testing.
- Professional experience building software in production, typically between 3 to 6 years.
- Legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom and ability to work from the London office three days per week.
