Azure Devops Engineer - Microsoft Fabric

Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps \& Microsoft Fabric Engineer with strong Power BI platform responsibilities to enable, stabilize, and continuously improve the enterprise analytics ecosystem. The role focuses on platform engineering, automation, lifecycle management, governance, and release operations for Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, ensuring that business\-critical reporting services are reliable, secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational change and licensing policies. You will act as a technical custodian of the analytics platform, enabling adoption, guiding users, and ensuring that solutions are delivered and operated according to enterprise standards. Key Responsibilities Azure DevOps \& CI/CD (Analytics \& BI Delivery) • Design, build, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for Microsoft Fabric and Power BI assets across Dev/Test/Prod environments • Ensure that system release deployments for Fabric and Power BI are delivered in compliance with Change Management processes • Implement versioning, approvals, rollback strategies, and release documentation • Automate environment configuration, deployment validation, and operational checks Microsoft Fabric Enablement \& Platform Improvement • Enable Microsoft Fabric adoption and continuously improve the technical setup and platform architecture • Implement and maintain Fabric components (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, pipelines, workspaces) • Drive technical platform improvements and automation to enhance stability, scalability, and operational efficiency • Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to align Fabric capabilities with business\-critical reporting needs Power BI Platform Operations \& Stability • Ensure high availability and stability of Power BI reporting services used for business\-critical decision\-making • Support the full lifecycle of Power BI assets (semantic models, reports, apps, refresh processes) • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve platform issues impacting users’ access to data • Implement operational improvements to ensure customers and stakeholders have reliable access to trusted data Platform Lifecycle Management \& User Guidance • Act as platform owner for Fabric and Power BI from a technical perspective • Provide guidance and support to system users, BI developers, and data engineers • Maintain control over system lifecycle activities, including: o Patching and upgrading platform components o Configuration management o Access management (Entra ID, RBAC, service principals) o Installing and enabling new platform features • Continuously improve the technical platform in line with evolving business requirements Governance, Compliance \& Licensing • Ensure analytics applications and platforms are installed, configured, and used according to purchased licenses and contractual conditions • Collaborate with governance, security, and procurement teams to maintain compliance • Enforce platform governance standards including access controls, auditability, segregation of environments, and documentation • Support license awareness and optimization across Fabric and Power BI usage Operational Excellence \& Monitoring • Establish monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Fabric/Power BI monitoring tools • Maintain runbooks and operational procedures for incident handling and platform recovery • Drive continuous improvement in reliability, automation, and platform maturity Required Skills \& Experience Core Requirements • Strong hands\-on experience with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, YAML, release management) • Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Factory) • Strong experience operating and governing Power BI platforms in enterprise environments • Experience managing change, release, and deployment processes • Solid understanding of SQL; familiarity with Spark/PySpark is beneficial • Strong knowledge of identity and access management (Entra ID / Azure AD, RBAC)
