Job Description
DevOps Engineer
📌 About the Role
We are hiring an experienced
AWS DevOps Engineer
with 5+ years of hands-on experience building, automating, and operating cloud-native infrastructure. You will own end-to-end delivery across containers (EKS / ECS / Lambda), data services (DynamoDB / RDS / DocumentDB / S3), and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
Focus split: Infra \& CI/CD 50% | SRE \& Troubleshooting 30% | R\&D 20%
🛠 What You'll Do
- Design and build AWS infrastructure (EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, DocumentDB, Kinesis, CloudFront, VPC, IAM) using Terraform
- Build and own GitHub Actions pipelines: deployments to EKS/ECS, ECR builds, Terraform plan/apply, and automated gates (lint, SAST, tests)
- Operate EKS clusters: Helm deployments, ALB/NLB ingress, RBAC, HPA, node group upgrades, and CloudWatch Container Insights
- Set up monitoring and alerting: CloudWatch, Container Insights, OpenSearch log pipelines, Grafana/Prometheus
- Deploy Lambda functions and ECS Fargate services; build event-driven flows with Kinesis, SQS, SNS, and S3 triggers
- Provision, update, and troubleshoot AWS databases (DynamoDB, RDS, DocumentDB) with app teams
- Configure S3: lifecycle rules, versioning, cross-region replication, and SSE-KMS encryption
- Harden environments: IAM least-privilege, Security Groups, NACLs, Secrets Manager, KMS
- Define CI/CD standards: branch protection, ECR pushes, staged Helm rollouts, smoke tests, rollbacks
- Own production ops: patch/upgrade AWS infra, lead RCA, publish post-mortems
- Research DevOps, SRE, AIOps, and Gen AI tooling; run PoCs and share findings
- Willing to lean in and adapt quickly to evolving tools, priorities, and team needs
✅ Required Skills
- Bachelor's in Engineering or Computer Science
- 5+ years IT experience; 4+ years AWS DevOps / SRE / Cloud Engineering
- AWS Compute: EKS, ECS Fargate, Lambda
- AWS Data: DynamoDB, RDS, DocumentDB, S3 (working knowledge + troubleshooting)
- Kubernetes: Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, ConfigMaps, Ingress, RBAC, HPA/VPA
- IaC: Terraform (modular, remote state), Ansible
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions (pipelines, ECR push, Helm deploy, SAST/DAST)
- Networking: VPC, subnets, SGs, NACLs, PrivateLink, CloudFront
- Security: IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS, GuardDuty, AWS Config
- Observability: CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Grafana/Prometheus
- Scripting: Python, Shell
- Source Control: GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket
- Good to have: Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, AIOps
- Strong communicator; calm under pressure; drives blameless post-mortems
