Job Description
This role sits within the finance function of a company based in Dubai, covering internal controls, governance, and accounting for treasury products. The position is at Assistant Vice President level and has a technical focus rather than a commercial or generalist remit.
The Role
The Assistant Vice President - Internal Control \& Accounting will work across internal control frameworks, accounting governance, and treasury product accounting. The role involves hedge accounting and IFRS 9 application, and connects to broader finance transformation work across the region.
Likely Focus
- Maintaining and strengthening internal control frameworks relevant to finance and treasury operations
- Applying IFRS 9 standards to financial instruments and treasury products
- Supporting or leading hedge accounting processes and documentation
- Contributing to regional finance transformation initiatives
- Ensuring accounting governance standards are met across relevant product areas
- Liaising with audit, risk, and finance teams on control-related matters
Expected Profile
- Qualified accountant or finance professional with a technical accounting background
- Demonstrable experience with IFRS 9 and hedge accounting in practice
- Prior exposure to treasury products and their accounting treatment
- Experience working within internal control or governance frameworks in a finance environment
- Comfortable operating at AVP level with some degree of independent ownership over technical workstreams
- Experience in or familiarity with finance transformation projects would be an advantage
- Based in or willing to relocate to Dubai, UAE
