**Alo Restaurant**
is hiring an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team for a 1 year maternity leave coverage contract beginning in early\-to\-mid June.
*There is opportunity for this role to become a permanent position after the contract term.*
Alo Restaurant is the fine dining flagship of Alo Food Group. Opened in 2015, Alo has become a quintessential Toronto dining destination. Alo has been named Canada's Best Restaurant multiple years since it's opening, and received the honour of Canada's Best Service Award by Canada's 100 Best Restaurants in 2025\. Alo has earned and retained 1 Michelin star since 2022\.
The ideal candidate in this role has unquestionable hospitality, a passion for all things food and beverage, and the ability to focus in a fast paced environment.
**Qualifications**
* Strong skills in team leadership, staff management, and training development
* Experience in overseeing daily restaurant operations and delivering exceptional customer service
* Expertise in international food and beverage
* Ability to communicate effectively and actively problem\-solve in a fast\-paced environment
* Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality management is highly preferred
* SmartServe \& Food Handlers Certified
* Wine education such as WSET is preferred
* A passion for food, drink, and exceptional guest experiences
**Responsibilities:**
* Work in tandem with the General Manager to ensure successful daily operations.
* Manage and lead a team of dedicated employees, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective performance.
* Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, provide additional moments of delight for diners, and enhance team training.
* Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
* Overseeing hiring, training, and guidance of hourly front of house staff, ensuring a positive culture amongst the team.
* Building and maintaining outstanding relationships with guests both new and returning.
* Ordering and inventory control, as needed, in tandem with the General Manager.
* Maintain strong communication with the kitchen team throughout service to ensure a smooth flow.
* Scheduling of front of house staff.
* Preparing daily sales reports as needed.
* Reservation management.
* Other duties as assigned.
