**About the role:**
The Finance team at Facility Association plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting across the organization’s mechanisms. As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements while leading a team of accounting professionals responsible for the monthly and year\-end financial close processes.
This role works closely with internal stakeholders across the organization and external auditors to ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory and accounting standards.
**As Manager, Finance reporting to the Director, Finance, you will:**
* Lead and develop a high\-performing team of Accountants and Senior Accountants, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and guidance on technical accounting matters.
* Oversee the full cycle of the monthly close process and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules for Facility Association’s mechanisms (FARM, RSP, and UAF).
* Review journal entries, provisions, accruals, reconciliations, and financial worksheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting policies.
* Analyze financial results and explain variances from prior periods, collaborating with the FP\&A team to provide insights into key drivers and financial trends.
* Lead the resolution of complex accounting matters and provide technical guidance to the team.
* Coordinate with external auditors during year\-end financial statement audits and CSAE 3416 control audits, ensuring all requests are addressed efficiently.
* Review and sign off on financial controls and ensure compliance with internal control standards and regulatory requirements.
* Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency, including leveraging tools such as SharePoint, Tableau, or other reporting technologies.
* Monitor new accounting standards and regulatory changes and provide recommendations for implementation where necessary.
* Support special finance initiatives and cross\-functional projects across the organization.
* Communicate financial information and insights clearly to stakeholders, including those without a financial background.
**About You**
**As Accounting Manager, you demonstrate:**
* Post\-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* CPA designation (CPA, CA preferred)
* 5–7 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
* At least 3 years of experience managing or leading a team of direct reports
* Experience with financial statement preparation, financial analysis, and month\-end/year\-end close processes
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting practices
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial reporting tools
* Experience working with large datasets, accounting systems, and reporting platforms
* Property \& Casualty insurance experience is considered an asset
* Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and critical thinking skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non\-financial stakeholders
* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
* A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams

The hiring range for this role is
**$110K to $120K per year.**
