Accountant

**JOB TITLE:** Accountant **LOCATION:** Remote (Scotland) **JOB TYPE:** Full\-Time **Role Overview:** TEXO Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Accountant to join their finance team. This is a key role within a growing industrial services business, supporting financial reporting, cash flow management, and commercial decision\-making across multiple business units. The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering accurate and timely management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing financial insight to senior leadership. Operating within a complex, project\-based environment, this position offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to make a tangible impact within a progressive organisation. **Key Responsibilities:** * Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts across all business units, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines. * Perform variance analysis against budget and prior periods, providing clear and concise commentary to support business performance reviews. * Maintain oversight of profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow positions on a rolling basis. * Monitor and forecast cash flow, supporting effective working capital management. * Manage invoice finance facilities, including reconciliations and drawdown processes. * Support budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with divisional and senior leadership teams. * Deliver KPI reporting and financial performance analysis across divisions and projects. * Assist with year\-end processes, including preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors. * Support VAT returns, payroll reconciliations, and compliance with HMRC requirements. * Prepare board\-level financial packs and provide ad hoc financial analysis as required. * Collaborate with operational and project teams to understand cost drivers and improve financial visibility. * Identify and implement opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting efficiency. **Required Skills \& Experience:** * Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) or finalist level; QBE candidates will be considered with strong experience. * Proven experience in preparing management accounts within a multi\-entity or project\-based environment. * Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling and data analysis. * Experience working with accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, or similar platforms. * Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills with high attention to detail. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast\-paced environment. * Strong communication skills, with confidence presenting financial information to non\-finance stakeholders. **Desirable Experience:** * Background in construction, engineering, energy, or similar project\-driven industries. * Experience working with invoice finance or asset\-backed lending facilities. **To apply, please contact Hannah Thomson at TEXO Recruitment on 07768 735732 / 01224 446789 or email your CV to hannah.thomson@texorecruitment.co.uk**
