Job Description
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and organized Accountant to join our team in the Food/Catering industry. The successful candidate will manage financial transactions, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all financial activities related to catering/food operations. You will work closely with the management team to maintain financial records, prepare reports, and ensure effective financial planning for the business.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Financial Management**
: Manage the daily financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
* **Budgeting \& Forecasting**
: Assist in creating and maintaining financial forecasts, operating budgets, and monthly financial reporting, with a focus on cost control and profitability in catering operations.
* **Invoice Processing**
: Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices related to catering events, vendor payments, and client billings.
* **Cost Tracking**
: Monitor and track food, labor, and supply costs to ensure efficient use of resources and profitability for catering services.
* **Financial Reporting**
: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports (P\&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for management review.
* **Tax Compliance**
: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, preparing and submitting any necessary tax filings.
* **Vendor Management**
: Maintain records of payments, resolve discrepancies with suppliers, and manage relationships with vendors.
* **Bank Reconciliation**
: Reconcile bank statements and cash balances regularly to ensure accurate financial records.
* **Audit Preparation**
: Assist in the preparation for audits by providing required documentation and reports.
* **Inventory Control**
: Collaborate with the inventory team to track and manage stock levels, ensuring that purchases are in line with catering demand and budget.
* **Regulatory Compliance**
: Ensure adherence to all relevant financial laws and regulations in the UAE, including VAT and payroll taxes.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional qualification).
* Previous accounting experience, ideally in the hospitality or catering industry.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT, and financial reporting.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
* Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast\-paced environment.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teams.
**Preferred:**
* Experience with catering\-specific financial operations (e.g., event billing, menu pricing, vendor management).
* Knowledge of UAE tax laws, payroll regulations, and VAT practices.
