Accountant (Newly Qualified)

***Are you a recently qualified ACA/ACCA who wants a true “number two” role in a high\-growth retail brand?*** This fast\-growing, international consumer business (premium retail, multi\-channel, multi\-country) is looking for a qualified Accountant to support the Finance Manager and help build out a more scalable finance function as the company expands in the UK, US and new markets. The environment is busy and evolving – growing store portfolio, rapidly scaling online, new territories coming on stream and a major ERP upgrade this year. Finance is right in the middle of that change, with lots of opportunities to take ownership beyond core month\-end. You’ll act as the Finance Manager’s number two, taking on key parts of the month\-end, reviewing work from junior team members and getting heavily involved in projects (systems, process improvement, international growth). **Responsibilities** * Taking ownership for core elements of the month\-end (journals, reconciliations, P\&L and balance sheet schedules) * Being the first review point for work produced by Finance Assistants (AP/AR, cash, key reconciliations) * Preparing, reviewing and explaining P\&L and balance sheet movements for the UK business * Supporting stock, margin and other retail\-specific accounting work as the business grows * Contributing to the ERP migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (data, processes, testing, reporting) * Helping tighten controls, tidy legacy issues and improve end\-to\-end finance processes * Supporting the Finance Manager and Head of Finance on ad hoc projects linked to international expansion and new initiatives **Candidate profile** * ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) \- recently qualified to c.2 years’ PQE * Experience with retail / consumer / multi\-site businesses – either in industry or as key audit clients * Strong grounding in month\-end accounting (journals, reconciliations, P\&L and balance sheet) * Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and dealing with detail, not just high\-level review * Some experience working with or supporting more junior team members (coaching or informal review) * Enjoy working in a fast\-paced, growing business with projects running alongside BAU * ERP experience helpful; any exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other mid–large ERPs a plus **Location:** London (4 days per week in the office) If you’re a qualified accountant with retail exposure who wants to be close to the numbers, influence how finance operates and grow quickly in a high‑growth, brand‑led environment, I’d be keen to speak.
