Accountant

We are seeking a detail\-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accounting and financial reporting across Corporate, Investment, and long\-term asset construction and operating divisions. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in project, construction, or investment accounting, as well as those actively pursuing their CPA designation.  **A day in the life:** * Prepare month\-end, quarter\-end, and year\-end financial statements, forecasts, and management reports within a multi\-entity environment * Perform accounting for various legal structures, including corporations, joint ventures, and limited partnerships * Compile and present monthly financial analyses to support management decision\-making * Complete reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts * Track and analyze job\-level costs * Review and investigate divisional and corporate overhead variances * Support year\-end audit processes and tax preparation activities * Assist with quarterly reforecasting and annual budgeting * Contribute to IT system implementations and conversions What you will bring to the table:  * 3\-7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in project accounting, real estate, or investment environments * CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification * Strong sense of urgency with a collaborative, team\-oriented mindset * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non\-technical stakeholders * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel * High level of motivation, accountability, and ownership * Proactive approach with strong multitasking capabilities * Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy * Results\-driven with strong relationship management and negotiation skills **As a 2025 Best Managed Company, we will provide you with:** * Competitive compensation and incentive program * Flexible health and dental coverage * Employee matching group RRSP program * Continuing education is a focus at Jayman, and you have the opportunity to participate in annual customized education \& training * Opportunity for growth and career advancement * Employee Discounts * Social Club events * On\-site gym \& parking For the last 45 years, Jayman BUILT has been proud to be one of Alberta’s top home builders.
