Accountant

Role Overview

We are seeking a newly qualified accountant (0–2 years PQE) to join a dynamic and fast-paced macro hedge fund based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded individual to gain broad exposure across fund accounting, financial reporting, and business operations within a high-performing investment environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting \& Accounting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Assist with NAV calculations and investor reporting
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Support the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors

Fund Operations

• Work closely with fund administrators to oversee fund accounting activities
• Review reconciliations (cash, positions, P\&L) and investigate discrepancies
• Assist in monitoring portfolio valuations and pricing sources

Management Reporting

• Produce internal management accounts and variance analysis
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support investment and operational decisions

Controls \& Compliance

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures
• Assist with regulatory reporting requirements
• Support implementation and improvement of financial processes and systems

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
• 0–2 years post-qualified experience (PQE)

Experience

• Background in audit, fund accounting, or financial services preferred
• Exposure to investment management, hedge funds, or asset management advantageous

Skills \& Competencies

• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Proactive, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial systems is a plus
