Job Summary
This
Accountant II
role provides day-to-day operational support within a data and tech-heavy team of 10 members at a leading financial institution. The position involves validating transfer forms — including complex and estate-related transactions — processing asset movements in a high-risk environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and handling detailed reviews of documentation to support successful and timely transfers. This is a compliance-heavy role requiring prior experience working with complex documents and reviewing information in a high-risk environment. Performance will be measured on quality of work, meeting SLAs, and accuracy. The contractor will have access to customer data. On-the-job training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate transfer forms, including complex and estate-related transactions
- Process asset movements in a high-risk environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Handle detailed reviews of documentation to support successful and timely transfers
- Interact with both internal and external stakeholders
- Attend daily meetings (approximately 30–5 minutes per day)
Required Skills
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting/documentation review
- Macros Excel / data validation
- Tech savvy — proficient in MS Office, Excel, Confluence, and SharePoint
- Compliance background / KYC — reviewing complex documents
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Skills
- Banking / financial institution background
- Legal background — working with and reviewing legal documents and legal paperwork
Education Requirements
- Post-secondary education in finance or a related field
Required Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting or compliance-focused environment
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Overtime may be required depending on volume
- Fast-paced, compliance-heavy environment
- Role involves access to sensitive customer data
