We’re currently recruiting an  **Accountant**  to join our finance team. The Accountant is responsible for providing accurate information to various levels of management staff, including analysis and operational reporting. The Accountant assists the CFO in maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures, as well as in the preparation of financial and operational reports. **Responsibilities:** * Complete quarterly and monthly reporting for lending institutions and bonding companies * Prepare and complete year\-end working paper files for various companies and partnerships * Complete consolidations for various companies and partnerships * Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple entities including supporting backup documentation from a variety of sources * Process government remittances for various companies * Prepare corporate tax returns, including all required supporting schedules for various corporations * Prepare Partnership Information Returns, along with required supporting schedules, and complete and distribute T5013s; complete T5s and T3s when required * Various other assignments and preparation of reports as assigned by the CFO * Other related duties as required or assigned **Qualifications:** * Strong written and verbal English communication skills * Experience in Caseware * Proficiency in MS Word and Excel are required * Ability to enter data and submit queries on database ERP system * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Relationship management skills to interact comfortably and effectively interact with all levels of internal staff, clients, and government officials are required * Communication skills (facilitation, listening, verbal, written, presentation) * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Knowledge of accounting principles * Responsible, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality * University or college education with a focus in Business/Accounting * 2 years’ experience in a similar role preferred **Compensation:** * Starting salary range: $65,000–$70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience * 3 weeks of vacation to start * Company\-paid group benefits * Company\-sponsored pension plan (optional) **Additional Information:** * This posting is for an existing vacancy. * Artificial intelligence may be used to screen, assess, or select applicants for this position.
