Accountant

***Descriptions*** This is a full\-time, on\-site Accountant role based in Brighton. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Day\-to\-day tasks will include bookkeeping, reconciling accounts, preparing tax filings, conducting financial analysis, and collaborating with team members to support the company's financial goals. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of accounting principles to support organisational growth and fiscal responsibility. ***Key Responsibilities*** *Financial Management \& Accounting* * Manage daily financial operations including expense processing, payment control, and financial record maintenance. * Prepare and review financial data to support management accounts and financial reporting. * Coordinate with external accountants on bookkeeping, financial statements, and compliance requirements. * Monitor dealership expenses and ensure transactions comply with internal financial policies. * Support cashflow monitoring, bank reconciliations, and financial controls. * Assist with financial system management including Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and accounting software. *Compliance \& Operational Support* * Ensure compliance with financial regulations and relevant industry requirements, including consumer credit regulations. * Support FCA\-related processes and documentation where required. * Conduct financial checks and internal audits to maintain operational accuracy. * Assist with stock and financial monitoring within the aftersales department. * Improve financial procedures and payment processes across the dealership. **Qualifications** * Experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations, preferably within the automotive industry. * Understanding of vehicle finance products such as HP, PCP, and leasing. * Familiarity with accounting software, Dealer Management Systems (DMS), and banking platforms. * Knowledge of financial compliance and regulatory requirements. * Strong organisational and analytical skills. * Ability to work closely with sales teams, lenders, and accountants.
