About the Opportunity
A privately held investment platform is seeking an Accountant to join its growing finance team. The organization manages a diversified portfolio of investments across real estate, private lending, venture capital, and public markets.
This is a unique opportunity for an accounting professional who wants exposure beyond traditional corporate accounting. The role offers visibility into multiple asset classes, direct interaction with senior leadership, and the opportunity to help build and improve financial reporting processes within a dynamic investment environment.
The Role
The Accountant will be responsible for monthly reporting, financial statement preparation, and supporting the month-end close process across multiple entities. This individual will work closely with leadership and external service providers to ensure accurate, timely financial information while helping improve processes as the platform continues to grow.
This is a highly visible role that combines accounting, reporting, investment operations, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support the monthly close process
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages
- Review and reconcile financial information received from external bookkeeping providers
- Assist with quarterly and annual reporting requirements
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Coordinate with external tax and accounting professionals
- Track and support investment activity, capital calls, and distributions
- Assist with cash management and banking-related activities
- Develop and improve financial reporting processes
- Support ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of financial statements and month-end close processes
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with Power Query preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA-track
- Public accounting experience
- Experience with multi-entity accounting
- Exposure to real estate, private investments, or alternative asset classes
- Family office, fund accounting, or investment management experience
