Academic Coordinator (Grades 3–5, Primary Wing)

**Role Overview**
The Academic Coordinator for Grades 3–5 is responsible for leading and managing the core academic program of the primary wing. This role ensures high\-quality teaching and learning, alignment with curriculum standards, effective lesson delivery, and continuous academic improvement. The coordinator works closely with teachers to strengthen instructional practices, monitor student progress, and maintain academic excellence.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1\. Academic Planning \& Curriculum Management**
* Oversee implementation of the curriculum for Grades 3–5 across all core subjects.
* Ensure lesson plans, unit plans, and assessments align with academic standards and school objectives.
* Review and refine curriculum frameworks to maintain rigor, relevance, and progression.
* Coordinate with subject leads to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of content.
**2\. Teaching \& Learning Enhancement**
* Monitor classroom instruction to ensure effective pedagogy and student engagement.
* Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
* Promote innovative teaching strategies, including activity\-based and experiential learning.
* Support differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
**3\. Assessment \& Student Progress**
* Design and oversee assessment frameworks, including formative and summative evaluations.
* Analyze student performance data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
* Guide teachers in developing assessment tools and maintaining academic records.
* Ensure timely and accurate reporting of student progress to stakeholders.
**4\. Teacher Support \& Development**
* Mentor and coach teachers to improve instructional effectiveness.
* Organize training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs.
* Facilitate collaborative planning meetings and knowledge\-sharing sessions.
* Support new teachers in onboarding and adapting to academic expectations.
**5\. Academic Quality Assurance**
* Maintain consistency and quality in teaching\-learning processes across grades.
* Review notebooks, assignments, and assessments to ensure standards are met.
* Ensure adherence to academic policies, timelines, and documentation requirements.
* Lead academic audits and prepare reports for leadership review.
**6\. Coordination \& Communication**
* Act as a liaison between teachers, school leadership, and other departments.
* Collaborate with co\-curricular teams to integrate holistic learning experiences.
* Communicate academic expectations, updates, and feedback effectively.
* Engage with parents when required to address academic concerns.

**Qualifications \& Experience**
* Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Education or relevant subject area.
* B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred/required).
* 5–8 years of teaching experience in primary grades, with leadership exposure preferred.
* Experience in curriculum planning, assessment design, and teacher mentoring.
