Responsibilities
- Art classroom teacher, responsible for instruction of the 5 th - 8 th grade curriculum.
- Creating a positive learning environment
- Developing long and short-range plans
- Implementing plans effectively
- Formative and summative assessment of student progress
- Administrative duties such as attendance, parent communication, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid New York State teaching certificate in Art
- Demonstrate successful classroom experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with peers and supervisors
- Ability to motivate and instruct students in developing problem solving skills

- Demonstrated evidence of a proven ability to effectively organize
- Demonstrated evidence of a proficiency in modifying curriculum to meet the needs of special education students and advanced learners
- Demonstrated evidence of an ability to reflect and contemplate on one's teaching - allowing for growth and excellence
- Demonstrated experience, or knowledge of, working with at-risk students.
PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- Demonstrated evidence of a willingness to contribute within and outside the department if called upon (i.e. advisor, chaperone, club, etc.)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
ANNUAL SALARY: $44,840 - $53,700 Per WTA Contract
