Learn more about Everett’s exciting future! **About The Job** The work of this classification involves manual, technical, and clerical work related to receiving, reordering, storing, issuing, maintaining, tracking, and distributing a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment for the City's Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). Employees in this classification operate a variety of hand tools, equipment, and machinery including non\-CDL trucks, vans, forklifts, pallet jacks, scales, and dollies. Employees in this classification also use standard office equipment when performing inventory control functions that include data entry and database and spreadsheet management. Responsibilities extend to maintaining the MVD parts storeroom. The work is largely governed by rules, policies, and procedures under general supervision, and is reviewed through conferences, reports, inspections, inventory audits, and results achieved. Participation in training may be required periodically. For a full description of this position, please see the class specification on the City’s website. **Eligibility Requirements** * Requires high school graduation or equivalent **AND** * One year of verifiable experience in an automotive retail parts store, jobber, dealership, fleet parts room operation, or closely related experience in a warehouse management environment. **OR** * Successful completion of one year of post high school education in inventory control, materials management, parts, or closely related area. **Special Requirements Or Certifications** * Possession of, or the ability to obtain, with 30 days of hire and maintenance of for the duration of employment, a forklift operator certification in accordance with Washington Division of Occupational Safety \& Health (DOSH) rules. * Possession of, or the ability to obtain with 30 days of hire, a valid, unrestricted (except for vision) Washington State Driver License. * Successful completion of the ASE Parts Specialist examinations P1 and P2 within one (1\) year of hire. **How To Apply** * Apply on City Website. * All applicants are required to complete and submit the following: + The standard City of Everett online application form + Responses to the supplemental application questions + A resume (1\-2 pages) + Applications must be submitted through the City’s online application system by 5:00 PM on April 10, 2026 to be considered. * LATE, INCOMPLETE, FAXED, OR EMAILED APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. **EXAMINATION STEPS** * Supplemental Questionnaire is part of the application (weighed 10%). Answers must be detailed and will be blind rated. * Top\-scoring applicants will be called to an oral interview (weighted 90%), tentatively in\-person interviews will be scheduled on April 28, 2026\. * All vacancies in this job class will be filled from the ranked Civil Service register established from the examination process for 12 months. **IMPORTANT NOTES** * A passing grade of 70\.00 or higher is required on all parts of the screening process for placement on the ranked Civil Service eligible register. * The examination process is designed to sample and measure the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. * Applicants claiming veterans’ preference points in accordance with RCW 41\.04\.010 as amended and meeting eligibility criteria must submit form DD214, or its equivalent or successor discharge paperwork, that characterizes his or her service as qualifying discharge as defined in RCW 73\.04\.005\. * Extensive background checks will be conducted. * Hiring offers are contingent upon successful completion of a City\-paid pre\-employment physical. * This job classification is represented by Everett Municipal Employees Local 113, AFSCME. * New hires begin employment at the first step of the salary range. **Filing Opens: March 27, 2026** **Filing Closes: April 10, 2026** **Open/Competitive** **A26028**
