Job Description
**Job Summary**
This voluntary role involves overseeing the charity’s finances, supporting budgeting and financial planning and helping ensure strong financial governance as we deliver educational support for adults, children and young people.
You will work with fellow trustees and have the support of our bookkeeper to monitor income and expenditure, present clear financial information and be part of strategic decision\-making.
You will join a board comprised of 6 other Trustees.
**Responsibilities**
* Comply with the charity’s governing document and applicable law
* Manages its resources responsibly
* Act in the best interests of the charity
* Maintain appropriate financial and governance controls
* Remain accountable to stakeholders and regulators
**Qualifications/Experience**
* Financial literacy and confidence with budgets and basic accounts.
* Be able to explain financial information clearly to non\-financial trustees
* Work with auditors and other financial professionals.
* Is committed to our values of education, inclusion and safeguarding.
* Is willing to learn about charity finance and governance (experience welcome, but not essential)
This role will help the charity to ensure its planning and budgeting is robust and is central to the future development of the charity, as well as ensuring the charity's legal financial obligations are kept.
