System Engineer – Level 2 (Microsoft / Cloud / Infrastructure)

**Position: System Engineer – Level 2 (Microsoft / Cloud / Infrastructure)** **Work Mode:** On site   **Location:** Islamabad  **Timings:** 8pm to 5am We are a Managed Services Provider (MSP) delivering enterprise IT services to international clients. We are looking for a System Engineer – Level 2 with strong experience in Microsoft 365, Windows Server environments, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.  The ideal candidate will have hands\-on expertise in on\-premises and cloud environments, along with experience in technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers.  **JOB DESCRIPTION** The System Engineer L2 will be responsible for administering and supporting Microsoft infrastructure, virtualization platforms, backup solutions, and cloud environments across multiple client environments.  This role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, the ability to manage complex hybrid infrastructures, and experience working in a multi\-client MSP environment.  **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** **Microsoft Infrastructure Administration** \-Manage and administer Active Directory, Group Policy, Domain Controllers, and Windows Server environments (2008–2022\).  \-Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.  \-Manage user lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, licensing, and permissions.  \-Configure and manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) including Conditional Access policies and identity security.  **Cloud \& Hybrid Environment Management** \-Support hybrid environments integrating on\-premises infrastructure with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365\.  \-Configure and manage Azure AD Connect and directory synchronization.  \-Implement and support Azure cloud services and resources.  \-Assist with cloud migrations and hybrid deployments. **Virtualization \& Data Center Operations** \-Administer VMware ESXi and vCenter environments.  \-Deploy, configure, and maintain virtual machines and infrastructure services.  \-Manage virtualization resources and ensure optimal system performance.  **Backup, Disaster Recovery \& Data Protection** \-Implement and manage on\-prem to cloud and cloud\-to\-cloud backup solutions.  \-Administer backup and disaster recovery platforms such as Veeam.  \-Monitor backup jobs and ensure data integrity and recoverability.  **Security \& System Hardening** \-Perform patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system security hardening.  \-Implement Microsoft security best practices including MFA, Conditional Access, and Intune policies.  \-Manage endpoint security and compliance policies.  **Endpoint \& Device Management** \-Manage Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, MDM/MAM policies.  \-Support device provisioning and lifecycle management.  \-Implement endpoint compliance and device security policies.  **Technical Support \& Incident Management** \-Troubleshoot server, infrastructure, and Microsoft cloud\-related issues.  \-Resolve incidents and service requests through ticketing systems such as ZohoDesk, Jira Service Management, or ManageEngine.  \-Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents.  **Documentation \& Process Management** \-Maintain detailed infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.  \-Ensure proper documentation of changes, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.  \-Follow ITIL\-based change management and service management practices.  **Leadership \& Collaboration** \-Provide technical guidance and mentorship to L1 engineers.  \-Participate in infrastructure improvement initiatives and architecture discussions.  \-Collaborate with network, security, and cloud teams to deliver integrated solutions.    **REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE** \-5–8 years of experience in system administration and Microsoft infrastructure management.  \-Strong experience managing Microsoft 365 environments.  \-Hands\-on experience with Windows Server (2008–2022\).  \-Experience working with hybrid Microsoft environments (On\-Prem \+ Cloud).  \-Experience with Azure cloud services and identity management.  \-Strong experience with Active Directory and Group Policy administration.  \-Hands\-on experience with VMware virtualization environments.  \-Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.  \-Experience working with ticketing and remote management tools.    **TECHNICAL EXPERTISE** Candidates should have hands\-on experience with:  \-Microsoft 365 Administration  \-Exchange Online migrations (Cutover, Staged, Certified: Azure Administrator Associate  \-Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Administrator  \-MCSE / Microsoft Expert\-level certifications  \-VMware certifications are a plus
