If you want to be part of an elite, high performing “special forces” team, we invite you to send your cover letter, transcript, resume and optional design portfolio to hr@kleng.ca. **Key Responsibilities** **Structural Inspection and Engineering** * Engage in site visits and inspect existing structures, providing recommendations for repairs, modifications, and additions * Prepare detailed structural design calculations, technical drawings and specifications for structural steel and concrete structures. * Perform design of structural members, connections, and lifting structures for industrial and commercial projects **Project Management** * Manage full project life cycle: from proposal to construction completion * Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors * Provide clear thoughtful recommendations, and communicate effectively with others * Review construction shop drawings and respond to RFIs efficiently **Leadership and Mentorship** * Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, providing regular feedback and technical support. * Contribute to the development of internal standards, processes, and best practices, providing support in shaping the company’s policies and procedures. * Demonstrate leadership qualities by sharing expertise, fostering a positive work environment, and assisting the growth of a high\-performing, elite structural team. **Qualifications ** * Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (prefer great distinction grades). * Master’s or Ph.D. in Structural Design is considered an asset. * Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) or close to obtain one * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and the willingness to travel to nearby sites as required. * 3\+ years experience with structural steel design; familiarity with concrete, wood and masonry structures is beneficial. * Experience in Potash, Uranium, and Ag\-industrial facilities, as well as Pre\-Engineered building, will set you apart. * Strong technical expertise in structural analysis and design, ideally with Autodesk Robot Analysis, AutoCAD, Revit, MathCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite. * Passionate about continuous improvement; assisting in the growth of the company, increasing efficiency, service and overall productivity. * Innovative and open to new concepts, proactive and solutions oriented. * Proven leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members. * Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, provide clear project updates, and maintain trust through consistent, transparent communication. * A collaborative mindset and the ability to contribute positively within a small, growth\-oriented team environment. * Familiarity with Canadian and American design codes such as CSA S16, NBC, AISC and other technical standards. **What KL Eng Offers** * **Competitive Compensation:**  Regular salary reviews, performance\-based incentives, reimbursement of professional membership fees, and a negotiable Health Spending Account allowance * **Invest in Your Future:**  Continuous investment in your career growth through certifications and professional development * **Flexibility:**  Options for flexible work arrangements, including remote or hybrid opportunities, while staying closely connected to impactful projects * **Leadership Potential:**  Direct mentorship from the founder and a clear pathway toward leading and growing the structural engineering department At KL Eng, this is more than your next job, it’s a chance to uncover your passions, amplify your strengths, and unlock your full potential.
