**Job Overview**
**IPS (Information Process Solutions) Pakistan is seeking a highly skilled Structural Steel Designer / Structural Design Engineer (Steel)**
to lead the analysis and design of steel\-framed structures for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and code\-compliant structural designs in accordance with
**U.S.A. construction standards and engineering practices**
.
The role requires strong experience in
**steel design, structural analysis software, and compliance with international engineering codes**
.
**Major Job Responsibilities**
**1\. Structural Design Leadership**
* Lead the
**structural analysis and design of steel\-framed structures**
such as buildings, platforms, canopies, mezzanines, and industrial facilities.
* Manage multiple structural projects from
**concept design to final construction documentation**
.
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
**2\. Structural Analysis \& Engineering Calculations**
* Perform advanced structural analysis for
**gravity, wind, seismic, and dynamic loads**
.
* Utilize structural engineering software to evaluate structural systems and optimize performance.
* Participate in
**design review meetings**
, issue design clarifications, and respond to
**RFIs (Requests for Information)**
.
**3\. Steel Member \& Connection Design**
* Design
**steel members, connections, and bracing systems**
in accordance with engineering codes.
* Prepare
**design calculations, structural reports, and technical specifications**
.
* Ensure structural safety, constructability, and cost efficiency in all designs.
**4\. Code Compliance \& Engineering Standards**
* Ensure designs comply with
**U.S. construction and structural engineering standards**
, including:
* **AISC 360 – Steel Construction Manual**
* **ASCE 7 – Minimum Design Loads**
* **IBC – International Building Code**
* **ASTM Material Standards**
* **AWS D1\.1 Welding Code**
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
* Strong knowledge of
**structural steel design and analysis principles**
.
* Understanding of
**U.S. structural design codes and engineering practices**
.
* Ability to perform
**complex load calculations and structural analysis**
.
* Experience designing
**steel frames, trusses, connections, and bracing systems**
.
* Strong
**analytical, problem\-solving, and engineering judgment**
.
* Excellent
**technical documentation and reporting skills**
.
* Ability to manage
**multiple projects simultaneously**
.
* Strong
**communication and coordination skills**
with engineering teams.
**IT Skills / Engineering Software**
**Hands\-on experience with structural engineering and analysis software:**
* **ETABS**
* **SAP2000**
* **STAAD.Pro**
* **Tekla Structural Designer**
* **RISA Structural Software**
Additional preferred tools:
* **AutoCAD**
* **Tekla Structures**
* **Revit (Structural)**
* **Microsoft Excel for structural calculations**
**Qualification**
**🎓 Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in:**
* Civil Engineering
* Structural Engineering
* Construction Engineering
* Related Engineering Discipline
**Experience**
**💼 2–4\+ years of experience in structural steel design**
* Experience working with
**U.S.\-based construction standards and structural codes**
* **Experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure steel projects**
