Job Description
**Job Summary:**
A Storekeeper manages the storage of goods and materials, maintains stock records, and ensures that items are issued and received properly. They help maintain accurate inventory and keep the store area organized and secure.
Key Responsibilities
* **Receiving Goods**
* Receive materials and check them against purchase orders or delivery notes.
* Inspect goods for damage or shortages.
* **Stock Management**
* Maintain proper records of incoming and outgoing stock.
* Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
* **Storage \& Organization**
* Arrange goods in the store according to categories.
* Ensure proper labeling and safe storage of materials.
* **Issuing Materials**
* Issue materials to departments as per approved requests.
* Maintain issue records and update stock balance.
* **Inventory Control**
* Conduct regular stock checks and physical inventory.
* Report discrepancies or damaged goods.
* **Documentation**
* Maintain stock registers, inventory records, and reports.
* Use inventory software or Excel when required.
* **Store Maintenance**
* Keep the store clean and organized.
* Ensure safety procedures are followed.
Required Skills
* Basic computer knowledge (Excel, inventory systems)
* Good record\-keeping ability
* Attention to detail
* Organizational skills
* Basic math skills
Educational Qualification
* High School / Diploma / Bachelor’s degree (depending on company)
Experience
* 1–3 years of experience in storekeeper or warehouse management (preferred)
