Job Description
**NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)**
is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non\-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1\.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2\.2 million when regional and national services are included.
**The Role**
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Ward 3C Renal for fulltime or parttime hours. Ward 3C is a 10bedded inpatient unit caring for children and young people (018 years) with renal, urology, and rheumatology conditions. The ward provides all modalities of renal replacement therapy for paediatric patients across Scotland, supported by comprehensive education programmes in acute and chronic renal care, pre and postoperative management, renal transplantation, and complex urology conditions.
The unit also includes a 4bedded outpatient haemodialysis bay, delivering acute and chronic haemodialysis seven days a week. As the National Paediatric Renal Transplantation Unit since 2002, Ward 3C provides specialist assessment, transplantation, and followup care for children across Scotland.

**Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:**
* Location based in Royal Hospital for Children
* Fixed\-term Contract for 6 months and 12 months post
* Full\-time and part\-time positions
* Shift pattern for this post are days and night shift rotation, including weekends and public holidays.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care in collaboration with the multi\-disciplinary team.
* Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives/carers and other team members to ensure that appropriate information is shared and patient needs are met.
* To provide a high standard of nursing care within the clinical area to ensure that patient needs are assessed, care planned, implemented and evaluated, and that there is consultation and involvement of patient/carers.
* Responsible for maintaining patient records within agreed standards and ensuring high quality record keeping within area of responsibility.
* Contributes to the development of programmes of care, and provides advice to junior staff concerning the treatment of complex patient groups.
* To delegate staff with due regard to individuals capabilities utilizing available skill mix appropriately.
* To ensure that patient care is individualised to encompass spiritual and cultural needs of the child and family.
* Provide the shared objectives of the multidisciplinary team by working closely to ensure that best practice is achieved.
**Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:**
**Essential**
* Part 8 or 15 NMC Register
* Good Interpersonal and communication skills
* Good report writing skills
* Good organisational skills
* Motivated to learn and develop practice within paediatrics
* Ability to work within a team
* Able to work flexible hours
**Desirable**
* Previous Experience in ward setting
* Knowledge of how to use computer office package
