Job Description
Specialised Decision Unit (SDU) is a unit within the realm of unscheduled emergency care. We are really keen to hear from forward thinking dynamic individuals to support SDU. We are proud to promote and support staff that have the energy and drive to succeed in wanting to further their nursing career. The function of the SDU is to facilitate same day diagnostic interventions for patients seen by the Speciality Team and who are not suitable for streaming to outpatients, hot clinics, immediate discharge or admission. The SDU team provide a rapid clinical assessment of our patients to enable a quick clinical decision will be made to either observe, treat, discharge or stream the patient into the most appropriate specialty area. SDU provide observation and care for each patient which is tailored to the individual within 6 beds within Ward 126\. Our aim is to make sure no\-one remains in hospital any longer than necessary to help each patient returns to their place of residence.
