Staff Nurse

A staff nurse is a registered professional responsible for providing direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring health conditions, and creating and implementing care plans. * **Patient care:** * Assessing patient needs and developing individualized care plans. * Providing direct care, such as bathing, feeding, and changing bed linens. * Monitoring vital signs and overall patient health, and recording observations. * **Medication and treatment:** * Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. * Preparing injections and performing technical procedures like catheterization or wound dressing. * **Patient and family support:** * Educating patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post\-hospital care. * Addressing the emotional and psychological needs of patients and their families. * **Administration and coordination:** * Managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. * Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records and reports. * Coordinating with physicians and other members of the healthcare team. * **Emergency and safety:** * Responding to medical emergencies and administering immediate care. * Ensuring patient safety and compliance with infection control policies.
