**Intensive Intervention Program TOR**

**Position Purpose**
AMA is looking for a skilled, knowledgeable Special Education Teacher dedicated to helping students succeed in our school. This person will work with students in the Intensive Intervention Program who have social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
The Intensive Intervention Program TOR will collaborate closely with other support staff to support behavior and academic needs. They will be responsible for writing IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans, daily lesson planning and facilitation of classroom routines and procedures for all staff in the classroom, facilitating and leading case conferences, daily progress monitoring, and all other responsibilities of a TOR.
An ideal candidate excels in relationship building and has the desire to be a part of a larger team to support kids. At AMA there is a strong focus on collaboration, so it is essential that all team members are reliable, timely, and punctual with all expected assignments and duties. The Intensive Intervention Program TOR should have a strong desire to learn best practices in providing social, emotional, and academic support to students. Oftentimes the Special Education TOR will be tasked with thinking outside of the box to help develop solutions for students who struggle to meet behavioral or academic expectations. **Qualifications**
The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following qualifications:
* A Bachelors degree in Special Education
* Indiana License in Mild Interventions
* Experience working with students who have Emotional Disabilities within a school or clinical setting
* IEP writing experience
* The management tools and the temperament necessary to provide diverse students at varying skill levels with a safe, supportive environment to grow and do their best work
* Experience involving families (parents, grandparents and guardians) as well as the community in support of children’s academic and social development
* Excellent writing and overall communication skills
* A cooperative, energetic disposition and capacity to work in concert with a team
* The capacity to work in a fast\-paced, collaborative environment relentlessly focused on high standards and achieving ambitious goals for our young students
