Site Engineer

We are on the look out for Site Engineers who understand the technical delivery of energy storage and solar construction are among the most sought\-after professionals in England's construction market right now. As the UK races toward its Clean Power 2030 targets, EPC contractors and principal contractors are scaling up their site engineering teams at pace to deliver the largest wave of BESS and solar projects the country has ever seen. We are working with a Utility scale intergrator on the look out for Site Engineers across a range of scopes, civils, electrical, structural and commissioning on projects ranging from 50MW commercial solar installations through to 1GW\+ grid\-scale BESS facilities. Also keen to see Site Engineers with experince on major infrastructure programmes including National Highways RIS2, grid reinforcement projects and rail infrastructure particularly where there is a crossover with energy systems. **WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING** * Setting out, levels and survey work on solar farm layouts, BESS compound construction and infrastructure projects * Technical quality inspections and hold\-point sign\-offs at key construction milestones across civil, structural and electrical scopes * Producing and reviewing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Non\-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) * Supporting Site Managers with programme monitoring, lookahead scheduling and technical input * Coordinating with design teams on design queries, technical submittals and site\-generated design changes * Supporting BESS and solar PV commissioning sequences and interfacing with OEM technical representatives on site * As\-built recording, document control, O\&M manual compilation and handover file management * Controlling earthworks, drainage, foundations and structural steelwork to specification and tolerances * Contributing to site progress meetings, reporting and health and safety monitoring **WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR** * Degree, HNC or HND in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent demonstrated site experience * Demonstrable site\-based engineering experience on energy construction, civil infrastructure or EPC projects * CSCS Card at Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) or Site Engineer level * Experience with setting out equipment \- total station, GPS/GNSS rover \- for civil and structural scopes * Familiarity with ITP, NCR and RFI processes and document control systems (Procore, Aconex, 4Projects, etc.) * AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D competency — desirable for civil\-focused roles * Full UK driving licence \- essential; willingness to work site\-based across England * Solar PV, BESS or grid infrastructure project experience \- strong advantage * Working towards or holding professional membership (ICE, IET, IMechE) — desirable for permanent roles **WHY THESE ROLES STAND OUT** * Contract rates of £250–£340/day \- above general construction market average * Both contract and permanent routes available \- your choice of engagement model * Clear progression path to Site Manager within 2–4 years for high\-performing engineers * Work on landmark BESS and solar projects that will appear on your CV for life * Civil, electrical and mechanical backgrounds all welcomed across different scopes * A sector with genuine long\-term security \- UK has over 130GWh of approved BESS projects * Fast mobilisation on contract roles
