Senior Resident Engineer (Libya)

**Job Summary:** Responsible for the Project management of the site supervision team to ensure smooth progression of works and keep the Project Management and Contract Management updated with all activities. **Candidates with experience in large scale infrastructure work, Roads/ Bridges, Landscape and mix use development projects will ONLY be preferred.** **Position 1:** Senior Resident Engineer **Location :** Benghazi, Libya **Work Duration** : 2\+ Year ( Extendable) **Job Essentials :** * Leading, directing, and monitoring the performance of all site engineers and support staff under their control. * Monitoring Contractor's program of works to ensure on time delivery. * Serving as the primary point of contact for main Contractor/ sub\-contractor site staff for all project issues. * Reviewing claims from Contractor and preparing responses. Negotiating with contractors regarding the value of claims or any changes in schedule. * Reporting to the Project Director regarding staffing status, progress of work, problems needing resolution, and suggested solutions. * Maintaining and ensuring site safety; coordinating the activities of construction supervision staff involved in safety inspection. * Make sure that all staff are aware of the project approved procedures and processes. * Review and monitor in a timely manner, the Contractor’s proposed construction equipment and manpower histogram and advise of any shortage. * Establish documented procedures to overview and comment on proposed sub\-contractors, vendors, material, shop drawings and any other transmittal by Contractors. Any deviation from project requirements shall be properly reported to the Management addressing any possible Time and Cost Impact associated with it. * Regular visits to Project site for global monitoring of site activities in respect of Quality, Safety and Progress and advise Management of findings, area of concern and corrective action. * Lead the team to evaluate all Request for Information (RFI) as submitted by Contractor. * Ensure staff involvement and implementation of Field Quality Control procedures, Safety and Progress aspects. * Make sure that all MS, QCP, ITP, RA, and Records as submitted by Contractor (after PMC assessment) are reviewed by all disciplines and verified against Project Requirements. * Deep involvement in Contractor transmittals addressing Construction Methodology. Statements, Project Quality Plan, Safety Plan, Schedules and compliances with Project objectives. * Maintain full awareness of contracts financial status. * Give final approval to works and arrange handover. **Educational Qualification:** * Degree: Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology in related Degree (Preferably in Civil / Agriculture / Architecture / Construction Management). * **Experience :** 18\+ years overall experience in a comparable scope including a minimum of 5\+ years in GCC. * 10\+ years of site supervision of various types of projects. Experience in similar Large scale infrastructure projects will be preferred. * Strong knowledge in contracts for design and construction specifically: FIDIC or equivalent. * Experience and track record in managing related projects within one or more specializations (Especially related to mixed use Development Projects). * PMP certification is an additional Add on.
