**What Would You Do As Our Senior Legal Counsel**
The Senior Legal Counsel Nordics is the key legal advisor for ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions in the Nordics with a specific focus on Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. The role provides hands‑on legal support to commercial, product, and leadership teams, focusing mainly on commercial contracts, compliance, and data protection. It requires a highly independent lawyer who can negotiate agreements, identify risks early, and ensure the business operates legally and efficiently across all Nordics with a specific focus on Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The role is Stockholm‑based and newly created, offering significant responsibility and influence within the Nordic Legal \& Compliance function.
You will report to the to the Senior Legal and Compliance Counsel Nordic BA.
You would also:
* Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and other business contracts for the Nordics with a specific focus on Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
* Advise the business on legal, compliance, and data protection matters, ensuring adherence to local laws and internal policies.
* Monitor legal developments in Sweden, Norway and Denmark and translate them into practical guidance for stakeholders.
* Support dispute management, external counsel coordination, and contribute to M\&A or integration activities when needed.
* Deliver training and support to teams on contract policies, compliance topics, and general legal best practices.
**The Skills And Experience You Need**
We are looking for someone who:
* Is qualified Swedish lawyer with 10\+ years of post‑qualification experience from a reputable law firm or in‑house environment.
* Has strong background in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements (customer, supplier, procurement, etc.).
* Has solid understanding of compliance areas such as anti‑corruption, competition law and trade compliance, plus working knowledge of GDPR/data protection.
* Has experience navigating multi‑jurisdictional legal environments, ideally Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
* Has proven ability to manage disputes, and preferably support M\&A processes, and provide pragmatic legal advice in a fast‑paced, commercial setting.
This role requires someone who is proactive, self‑driven, and confident working independently across multiple markets. Strong communication, clarity in legal reasoning, and the ability to build trust with stakeholders are essential. Because the position interacts with teams in several countries, the ability to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English is critical for influencing decisions, simplifying complex legal issues, and ensuring alignment across the business. The ideal candidate combines high integrity, strong analytical thinking, and sound judgment with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset. They thrive in fast‑paced environments, collaborate effectively, and maintain resilience and composure when facing competing priorities.
