The Opportunity:
We are looking for a reliable, independent, and accountable Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist with strong Canadian experience who can manage multiple client files and take full ownership of their work.
This role will start as a contract position, with the opportunity to transition into a full\-time role based on performance.
Work Structure \& Location:
• This is not a remote role
• Work is performed at our Schomberg office and at client locations
• Occasional work at our Vaughan office
• Must be comfortable working in different environments
• Requires consistent on\-site presence
• Candidates must be comfortable with daily driving
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required

Key Responsibilities
• Full\-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
• Bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
• Accounts Payable \& Accounts Receivable follow\-up
• HST tracking, review, and filings
• Monthly financial reporting (P\&L and Balance Sheet)
• Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively
• Maintain organized and audit\-ready records
• Communicate directly with clients when required
• Track time accurately and manage assigned tasks
• Assist with payroll processing and related entries
• Support basic HR administrative tasks (employee onboarding, documentation, and coordination)
Financial Review \& Analysis Focus:
This role requires strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. You will be expected to:
• Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Identify inconsistencies, errors, and unusual transactions
• Work with incomplete or disorganized records and bring structure
• Understand the impact of errors on financial statements
• Ask questions and challenge information when something does not make sense
• Interact and collaborate with personnel across multiple divisions/reporting entities to collect, validate, reconcile, and analyze tax\-related information
• Assist with year\-end and quarterly tax provision support, if required
• Provide ad hoc tax and finance support during tax season
Requirements (Mandatory – Do Not Apply If Not Met):
• Strong experience with:
\* QuickBooks Online (QBO)
\* QuickBooks Desktop (QBD)
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (not just data entry)
• Advanced critical thinking and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients independently
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Professional communication in English
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be currently residing in Ontario, Canada
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Experience: Canadian Bookkeeping and Accounting: 2 years (required)
