Senior Accountant

We step in where you need us most, whether that’s navigating growth, improving profitability, scaling operations, or planning for what’s ahead. **The Opportunity:** We are seeking a detail\-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will support multiple client engagements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong accounting processes, and providing insights to support business decision\-making. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements * Maintain and oversee the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations * Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations * Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis * Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and Canadian tax regulations * Assist with corporate, payroll, and sales tax filings * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams and support client financial needs * Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to process improvements * Prepare ad\-hoc financial reports and analysis **Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * CPA designation (or working toward) preferred * 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience * Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting systems * Advanced Excel skills * Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) * Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills **Why Join Us** * People\-focused culture – we prioritize our employees, creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every team member feels valued and heard. * Professional development – we invest in your growth by offering opportunities to advance in your career. * Competitive Compensation – we offer a comprehensive benefits package, competitive paid time off and salary. * Fully remote work environment *The Finance Group is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable and accessible environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported.
