Senior Accountant

**Our client is an exciting Central London\-based, international Energy \& Commodity trading company seeking a qualified Accountant to join their growing business.** As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting decision\-making processes. **DUTIES INCLUDE:** * Prepare, analyse, and present financial statements for the company and its subsidiaries * Prepare, consolidate, and submit financial reports to regulatory authorities and stakeholders * Manage and oversee the day\-to\-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger * Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, providing regular updates to the management team * Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision\-making processes, including pricing strategies and investment opportunities * Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards * Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls **CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:** * Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; * Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years experience in Accounting preferably within Energy or Commodities, or Shipping / Mining * Strong experience with group consolidation * Strong experience with producing financial statements * Strong experience with general ledger functions and the month\-end/year end close process * Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including IFRS and GAAP * Able to work independently, and identify and raise concerns * Proficient in financial software and MS Office suite, with advanced Excel skills * Excellent analytical and problem\-solving abilities, with a strong attention to detail * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross\-functional teams
